Military Support

Everywhere in the world where there are deployed troops, there is a Red Crosser ready to help at a moment's notice to connect service members with their families. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, the American Red Cross is there to provide support to service members and their families in times of need, and help prepare service members and their families for life in the military.

Red Cross representatives are there to educate service members and their families about services provided including, but not limited to, financial assistance, counseling, family support groups and information and referrals to medical professionals.

In case of a family emergency, to speak to a Red Cross Representative about reaching a loved one in the Armed Forces, please call 1-877-272-7337**

**In an effort to increase efficiency in providing services to the Armed Forces, the American Red Cross has created 4, 24-hour Emergency Communications stations throughout the United States, to provide vital services to the military, their families and veterans both domestic and abroad. These four hubs will be located in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; Louisville, Kentucky; San Diego, California; and Springfield, Massachusetts. As a result, beginning Monday June 13, 2011, a new, single contact number is in effect for those needing access to emergency communications with Armed Forces personnel- all calls should be made to 1-877-272-7337.

By freeing up resources from call intake functions, local Red Cross chapters can continue to provide personalized vital services for military families, including hospital programs and outreach to Reserve and National Guard families.

For nearly 130 years, the Service to the Armed Forces has provided humanitarian support to the United States military, veterans and their families. Every year, services are provided to the more than 2 million military members including National Guard and Reservists, 23 million veterans and 3 million military family members. With centralized call centers receiving all calls and requests, chapters at the local level can focusa on individualizing attention for family follow up, and providing service referrals to community service organizations as necessary.
